Most of us at some point or the other have been faced with low back pain. There could be several reasons behind this. Most low back pain is a result of some kind of excessive use or a muscle strain. It could also be the result of injury to spine in the form of damage of muscles, ligaments and even the discs. If you have overly strained your back and its muscles, there are chances of your spine structure being affected in the long run.
The problem with low back pain is that it leads to other complications. For example, a natural tendency when any part of your body is in pain is to avoid using. The same goes with low back pain. Once you feel the pain you attempt to use your body in such a way so as to reduce the pain you feel. What happens in the bargain is that you end up hurting limbs that you hadn’t even thought of before.
There are certain very common reasons why you will suffer from low back pain. The first is excessive use and causing injury to the muscles and ligaments of your spine. Nerve root compression is another common reason. This can result from hernia affected disc or if you are progressing in age, then osteoarthritis. Those who suffer from spondylolysis as well have a tendency to suffer from low back pain. Women who are approaching their menopause tend to suffer from what is known as compression fractures. This puts a lot of strain on the low back and results in pain.
Those who have suffered broken bones around the spine and to it due to accidents are also prone to suffering from low back pain. The main issue with low back pain is that people tend to ignore it thinking it to be a part and parcel of aging. However, the causes have to be ascertained by a medical practitioner and due care has to be taken.
